The letter day is A
Welcome to Sandy Creek High School!
I am thrilled to be joining the Sandy Creek team this year as High School Principal! Every day I spend in Sandy Creek school I am impressed with the staff’s dedication to making all of our students “College and Career Ready.” Out in the community as well it is clear that care for our young people is a top priority: Comet pride is definitely community wide!
High school is certainly serious business. Over these four years students will grow from children into young adults, and will make decisions about higher education, military enlistment, or career paths that will shape their futures. Sandy Creek students have the opportunity not only to experience a first-class high school education, but also to participate in Career and Technical Education and take college courses as they progress toward graduation. The Sandy Creek staff is prepared to provide support for all students through AIS time, study halls, mentorships, and the After School Program, which will kick off in October.
On the other hand, high school also presents many opportunities to have fun, enjoy time with friends and teammates, and make lasting memories. Students are encouraged to get involved with athletics and the arts during their time at school. Extracurricular activities are not only for making friends; students can also explore areas of interest, learn leadership and time management skills, and gain independence. Creativity and perseverance are just as important as high test scores when it comes to success in high school!
As we move into the 2017-2018 school year, I look forward to continuing Sandy Creek’s traditions and focus on achievement for all students. Please feel free to stop by the high school office this summer to say hello, or to call me with questions or concerns. By working together, we can assure the best high school experience for all of our Comets!
